When it comes to specific types of visa applications, there are various arrangements and documentation that applicants need to manage. Expert Education can guide you through the process and help you determine the necessary documents and tests required from your end.
In the context of a point-based visa application for studying in Australia, applicants have the option to undergo a (community) language skills assessment in their native language. Successfully passing this test awards applicants five points towards their Permanent Residency (PR) application.
This assessment is known as the Credentialed Community Language or CCL, administered by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters Ltd (NAATI). The CCL evaluates the applicant’s language proficiency at a community level.
These points are often referred to as Credentialed Community Language Points. It’s important for candidates to seek confirmation from the Department of Home Affairs or a migration agent regarding their eligibility at the time of application.
The NAATI CCL is an online test available from Monday to Friday. The test comprises two dialogue recordings, featuring a conversation between a native English speaker and a native speaker of a Language Other Than English (LOTE).
The dialogues cover various topics, including business, consumer affairs, health, legal matters, community issues, housing, finance, and more. These dialogues reflect real-life situations in Australian society and are used to assess the candidate’s ability to comprehend and communicate in both languages.
A minimum of two examiners will individually evaluate your tests.
