The NAATI CCL is an online test available from Monday to Friday. The test comprises two dialogue recordings, featuring a conversation between a native English speaker and a native speaker of a Language Other Than English (LOTE).
The dialogues cover various topics, including business, consumer affairs, health, legal matters, community issues, housing, finance, and more. These dialogues reflect real-life situations in Australian society and are used to assess the candidate’s ability to comprehend and communicate in both languages.
A minimum of two examiners will individually evaluate your tests.
Here are some key considerations during the test:
When interpreting what has been said, account for the style in which the dialogue has been delivered. Understand the nuances and subtleties of the language, and avoid interpreting the tone or language mechanically.
Maintain consistency in tense when interpreting what you hear. Pay attention to word clusters, singular and plural forms, and other linguistic details.
Ensure that you cover everything that is said. Take notes of the dialogue to avoid omissions when interpreting from the source language to the target language.
